Understanding brand collaborations

Written by Donna

Every creator has a story told by the brands they've worked with. Brand Collaborations in Discover lets you see who creators have partnered with, when, and how - so you can make smarter decisions about who to work with next.

See the full collaboration timeline

Open any creator's profile and check the Brand Collaborations tab to see a visual timeline of every brand partnership Modash has detected. Each collaboration shows:

  • Which brand the creator worked with

  • When the collaboration happened

  • Content associated with the partnership

  • The platform it appeared on

Use custom date ranges to focus on a specific period - perfect for checking whether a creator has worked with a competitor recently, or for understanding how active they've been over the past quarter or year.

Automatic competitor and sector matching

Modash automatically identifies competitors and industry sectors from brand collaboration data:

  • Competitor matching - Modash detects brands in the same space as yours and highlights creators who've worked with them. This is a fast way to find proven creators who already understand your market

  • Sector matching - see which industry sectors a creator's collaborations fall into (e.g. beauty, fitness, food, tech). This helps you assess brand fit at a glance without manually reviewing every partnership

Both features work automatically - no configuration needed. They update as new collaboration data is detected.

Check collaborations directly from search

Spotted a creator in AI Search or Discover results? Click on a brand name to open the collaborations sidebar pre-filtered to that brand. You can also search for any brand in the sidebar to see the full collaboration history with that specific company.

This means you can vet a creator's brand history without leaving your search results - keeping your discovery workflow fast and uninterrupted.

Open collaboration partner profiles

Want to see the brand behind a collaboration? Click through to open the collaboration partner's profile directly from the Brand Collaborations view. This gives you quick context about the brands a creator works with, including their size, category, and social presence.

Platform mix

The platform mix chart shows how a creator's collaborations are distributed across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This helps you understand where a creator does most of their brand work - useful when you need someone with proven experience on a specific platform.

Content metrics on collaborations

Brand collaboration data includes content-level metrics so you can evaluate not just who a creator worked with, but how that content performed. See engagement, views, and other metrics on collaboration content to assess whether a creator delivers results for brands - not just posts.

💡 Pro tip: Use brand collaborations alongside AI Search and filters to find creators who've worked with competitors but haven't partnered with you yet. It's one of the most effective ways to find proven creators in your space.

FAQs

  • How does Modash detect brand collaborations?

Modash analyses creator content, hashtags, mentions, and other signals to identify brand partnerships. Detection is automatic and improves as more data is processed.

  • How far back does collaboration history go?

Collaboration history depends on the data available for each creator. For most creators, you'll see months or years of partnership history.

  • Can I filter search results by brand collaborations?

Yes. Use the brand collaborations filter in Discover to find creators who've worked with specific brands. You can also click brand names in AI Search results to filter the collaborations sidebar.

  • Are competitor and sector matches always accurate?

Matching is based on Modash's data and industry classification. It's highly accurate for well-known brands but may occasionally miscategorise smaller or newer companies. Use it as a starting point and verify with the full collaboration timeline.

  • Can I export brand collaboration data?

Collaboration data is viewable within Modash. Exports run asynchronously in the background, so you can keep working while your file is prepared.
