Modash uses AI-powered importing to make migration effortless. Just drag and drop your spreadsheet, and Modash automatically detects your columns, identifies platforms, and maps your data - no manual reformatting needed.
How to import creators
Go to Manage in Modash.
Click Import.
Drag and drop your file (or click to browse). Modash accepts CSV and XLSX files with creator data - usernames, emails, URLs, or a mix.
Modash AI scans your file and automatically maps columns to the right fields (handles, emails, labels, notes, statuses, assignees, and more).
Review the suggested mappings. Adjust any if needed - though in most cases, the auto-mapping handles it.
Click Continue, choose an existing list or create a new one, then confirm.
Modash will match the creators in your file with profiles in the database. Once imported, you'll see all your creators organised in lists, ready to add to campaigns or reach out to via Email.
How to format your file
You don't need a perfect spreadsheet (up to 30 MB). Modash's AI mapping handles most formats, but following these tips will give you the best results:
Required: At least one column with a creator identifier - a profile URL (e.g.
instagram.com/handle) or a usernameSupported formats: CSV (.csv) and XLSX (.xlsx) - multi-sheet files are supported, with each sheet mapped separately
Column headers: Use clear, descriptive headers like "Instagram Handle", "Email", "Notes". The AI mapper reads these to auto-assign fields
Multiple platforms: You can include Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube creators in the same file. Modash detects the platform from profile URLs automatically
Labels: Use comma-separated values in a single column (e.g. "VIP, Beauty, Q2 Campaign")
Assignees: Use the team member's email address
Addresses: Can be split across columns (street, city, postcode) or combined in one - the AI mapper handles both
Names: First name and last name can be in separate columns or combined. The mapper will merge them if needed
What gets imported
Beyond creator handles and emails, Modash can import your existing CRM data too:
Labels - Keep your existing tags and categories (comma-separated values in one column are supported)
Notes - Carry over any creator notes
Statuses - Maintain workflow progress
Assignees - Preserve team member assignments (matched by email address)
Addresses - Creator mailing addresses
Phone numbers - Contact numbers
Birthdays - Creator birthdays
Rates - Creator rates
Custom columns - Any custom column data your team tracks (text, number, currency, etc.)
This means you can bring your full creator roster into Modash from day one - not just profiles, but all the context around them, including custom workflow data.
Related profiles
When you import creators, Modash automatically shows each creator's related profiles on other platforms - just like when you add creators manually. So if you import an Instagram handle, you'll see their TikTok and YouTube profiles too. Related profiles are free and don't cost any credits.
đĄ Pro-tip: Related profiles only appear for creators already in your CRM. Brand-new handles won't show related profiles on their first import, but they'll appear once the creator is indexed.
If a creator isn't found
If some rows fail during import, Modash groups them by category (e.g. "Creator not found" or "Invalid format") so you can see exactly what went wrong. You can preview the failed rows inline or download them as a CSV to correct and re-import.
If a creator isn't found, it may mean they haven't been indexed by Modash just yet. You can still add unindexed creators to your lists and campaigns - Modash will start gathering their data right away.
Pro tip: Modash's AI mapping works best with clear column headers (eg. Instagram Handle, Email, Notes). You don't need to reformat your spreadsheet - just make sure handles are spelled correctly for the best match rate.
Once imported, your creators are ready to go. Organise them into lists in Manage, add them to campaigns in Track, or start reaching out via Email. Your entire creator base, fully connected to every part of Modash.
