How to create and assign a discount code
Open Track and select the campaign you want to work on.
Go to the Creators tab.
Find the Discount codes column and click the field next to a creator's name.
A dropdown will appear with your available Shopify discount codes. Choose an existing code or create a new one.
Share the code with the creator so they can start promoting it.
If a discount code applies to multiple stores, add it once per store for that creator.
Creating codes directly in Modash
When you create a discount code in Modash, it syncs to your Shopify store instantly. No waiting around. You can set:
Code name - the text customers enter at checkout (or let Modash auto-generate one)
Discount type - percentage or fixed amount
Discount value - how much off the customer gets
Product scope - apply to all products, specific collections, or specific products
Usage limit - optionally set a maximum number of total uses and/or limit to one use per customer
Codes created in Modash are basic discount codes. For more advanced code types (like buy-one-get-one or automatic discounts), you'll need to create them directly in Shopify.
Create codes across multiple stores at once
Running campaigns across regions or brands? Select multiple Shopify stores during code creation and Modash creates the code simultaneously across all chosen stores in a single action. Each store gets its own code instance in Shopify, but Modash aggregates sales data across stores in your campaign dashboard.
Editing codes remains per-store - to change a code's details, update each store's code instance individually.
Schedule codes in advance
Plan your promotions ahead of time with start and end date scheduling:
Start date/time - the code activates automatically at the scheduled time (e.g. a campaign launch date)
End date/time - the code expires automatically (e.g. a 3-day validity window for an influencer promotion)

Control how codes combine with other discounts
You can configure how your discount code interacts with other discounts at checkout:
Combinable with product discounts - stack with automatic product-level discounts
Combinable with order discounts - stack with other order-level discount codes
Combinable with shipping discounts - stack with free or discounted shipping promotions
By default, codes follow Shopify's standard combination behaviour. These rules give you control over discount stacking - for example, allowing an influencer code to combine with a site-wide sale.

Tracking sales from discount codes
Once creators start sharing their codes, your campaign dashboard lights up. You'll see how many times each code was used, revenue generated per code, and which creators are driving the most sales.
Discount codes work alongside tracking links, product gifting, and affiliate programs to give you one clear picture of creator-driven revenue. When a customer uses both a discount code and a tracking link at checkout, the discount code takes priority for attribution.
