You can now run and scale your affiliate program with Modash. Affiliate payments offers precise commission tracking with links and discount codes and takes care of the entire payments workflow for you.

To get started, you’ll need two things:

  1. Be on a Performance Plan or higher

You’ll get a dedicated account manager to walk you through onboarding, help you integrate everything smoothly into your workflow, and support you along the way.

Want to know more? We’ve got all the important details for you below 👇

How commission attribution works

You can set different commission tiers directly within Modash, choosing the percentage of commission the affiliates shall receive.

You can assign one tier per creator. Modash uses a last-touch attribution model with a 30-day tracking window.

For example, if a customer clicks a creator’s link and returns to purchase within 30 days, that creator earns the commission. Affiliate codes always override link attribution in case both will apply to a sale.

Attribution data appears within 5 minutes after the purchase was made.

Creator onboarding steps

To invite creators, provide the creator’s email and attach your affiliate agreement with the creator.

Modash will then automatically send an email to the creator inviting them to join the affiliate program. The creator can already share their banking details for payouts and later upload an invoice to claim their earned commission.

It's important for your creator to understand the following:

  • The minimum payout amount is $80.

  • The commission hold period is flexible—from 1 to 365 days, depending on your preference.

  • Payments happen every month on the first.

  • Modash needs an invoice from the creator to pay the commission.

Don’t worry—our amazing team supports every creator with invoice creation. We’ve already paid thousands of creators and the process runs smoothly!

Invoice requirements

Creators must upload invoices to receive their commissions. Modash provides guidance and support to help creators ensure their invoices meet all necessary requirements, including details such as VAT ID (if applicable), address, invoice date, and invoice number.

Creators do not need to be business entities to create invoices, so it also works great for creators with smaller audiences.

Balance management

To pay creators, you’ll need a sufficient balance in your Modash Payments account. Topping up is simple: you’ll receive an invoice from Modash, and once it’s paid, your balance will be updated and visible in the app.

If your balance runs low, we’ll notify you with a reminder to top up. You can also check your current balance anytime by heading to Modash Payments.

Your balance can either be in USD or EUR. This is also the currency that you will use to pay your creators. Learn more about currencies below ⬇️

Currencies and exchange rates

We support all Shopify store currencies. So no matter in which currency your customers buy from you, we will automatically convert the sale into your payout currency (USD or EUR).

Within your campaign details, you'll always see both your original store currency and the converted payout amount.

Handling returns and cancellations

Thanks to the 30-day hold period, all cancellations and returns within this timeframe will remove and commission claims for purchases. So it's handled automatically 😉

Payment schedule and process

Payouts are processed monthly on the 1st of each month. The minimum payout threshold is $80. Commissions become eligible after the hold period set by your brand.

For example, if a sale is made on June 15 with a 30-day hold period, the commission becomes eligible on July 15. Eligible commissions are always paid out on the 1st of the following month—in this case, August 1.

If your account balance is insufficient for payouts, Modash will notify you.

Payment approval

Before commissions are paid out to your affiliates, you can approve each payment individually by reviewing the associated purchases. This gives you complete control over your payments.

Upcoming features

We're working on several exciting updates:

  • A creator dashboard will be launched, giving creators the ability to track their commissions and payouts in real time.

  • New attribution models will be introduced, including first-touch and mixed models, to offer more flexibility and insight.

  • Recurring commissions for subscription-based products will also be supported later this year.
